Wackos protesting Starbucks cup design

Postby Shopper X » Mon Nov 09, 2015 6:18 pm

There are some crazy people who are protesting Starbucks because their holiday cups are red this year, with no other decoration. These wack-a-doos are claiming that this design is a "war on Christmas" and because the company "hates Jesus". These are likely the same people who think that saying "Happy Holidays" is part of the so-called "war on Christmas".

FYI: one social media Christian response to this is you are supposed to say your name is "Merry Christmas" so they acknowledge "Christ" on your cup.

Since I don't drink coffee, makes no difference to me what color cup they want to sell it in. I spend $0 at Starbucks.

The design of a disposable coffee cup has no bearing on my religious beliefs. I am a Christian whether the cup is red or rainbow. I think the people protesting this would be better off spending their energy on gathering coats for the homeless or volunteering in a senior center. I guess it's easier to sit at your keyboard and post outrageous comments than actually getting off your butt and doing something truly productive and worthy.

They would probably also be outraged if Starbucks, like every other company, left their cups exactly the same this time of year.

I am sure they would. I am still laughing at that pastor who equated the plain cups with "hating baby Jesus". One of my niece's barista fixed the problem lol.

I think they are butthurt. In this article http://www.eonline.com/news/714222/this-is-how-starbucks-red-holiday-cups-have-changed-over-the-years?cmpid=rss-000000-rssfeed-365-topstories&utm_source=eonline&utm_medium=rssfeeds&utm_campaign=rss_topstories it shows the holiday cups from years past and I don't see anything that clearly shouts out Christmas. I mean there is more than one holiday that happens "only once a year" The snowmen or deer are a wintery scene. The only one that might be in question is the one with lights bc most call them Christmas lights.
If they want to boycott something please pick something better. SIGH

It's just really stupid and i think my boss was one of the first ones I saw that "liked" an article on facebook about being offended about this......

My brain does not compute this.

If you 1) find a red cup of coffee offensive and 2) feel the irresistible urge to boycott the makers of said cup,...

Well I envy you because you have officially run out of real problems

I agree. If they are that upset, donate the $5 a day they spend on a cup of coffee to a charity, buy toys for a toy drive or local group home, something else beside saying your name is merry Christmas so that it has to be written on a cup.

LOL!!! It's all absolutely ridiculous, and such a joke. These people need to get a real life, and drink less coffee lol
