Home Depot

Home Depot is another store that forced Bfads.net to remove their adscan last year. I recommend downloading and saving a copy of the adscan now, in case it disappears. The PDF file is now available which should make this easier.

Don't need the ad, I know what I want there.

November 15, 2013

As some astute BFAds noticed earlier yesterday, we have removed the Home Depot Black Friday ad from our site. This marks the fourth-straight year that we've posted their ad only to immediately receive a legal request demanding the ad be taken down.

The once fun and humorous (at least for BFAds) relationship has run its course and now we're just embarrassed for you, Home Depot.

When the likes of Best Buy, Target, Walmart (among many others) are now directly leaking their Black Friday ads, Home Depot is too busy lining their attorney's pockets to realize that the Black Friday landscape has changed from the glory days of the early 2000's.

While we never like to see a Black Friday ad removed, Home Depot is not a big loss. Given the way that Lowe's and Best Buy absolutely manhandled Home Depot's pre-Black Friday sale and the fact that Lowe's has a standing 110% price-match policy (a mention that Home Depot was none too happy about), other retailers will happily pick up the slack left by Home Depot this Black Friday.

We will not be reposting the Home Depot Black Friday ad nor will we be featuring any of their planned sales throughout the greater holiday season. If, by the slimmest chance, they do have a spectacular sale on certain items, we will cover those deals because Home Depot's antiquated views on Black Friday should not prevent you from saving money.

(If anyone wants helpful suggestions on how to cope with the ad's removal from Bfads.net, please feel free to ask.)

I have my list made from bfads for Black Friday shopping. That's the list I'll adhere to. Since Home Depot isn't on there since their ad was pulled, I guess that's one store I won't be going to this year. Oh well. Lowe's is across the street and has better prices, and service anyway.

You know you will sneak in, at least for the free donuts and coffee
