Black Friday Ads 2013 ...state of affairs...so far...Nov 11

Postby jasons9745 » Mon Nov 11, 2013 11:49 am

one word...really??? I have not see one really impressive ad yet...sure, the big guys are still on deck but with Penneys rolling out a sub-par ad today, not sure what that means for the rest of the retailers...I may be able to do all shopping online this year for the first time...usually 50/50 the past few years..

Anyone else less than enthused about the offerings so far?

Not impressed yet either. That being said, WM and the full Target ad have yet to come out so we can keep our fingers crossed.

I'm not overly impressed either. There's only 2 things thus far that I have to get, and the prices aren't that great for them. I'm just waiting patiently (sort of) for the big ads from WM, Target and KMart.

If Walmart and Kmart don't pull out the big guns I will certainly be staying home on black friday for the 1st time in years. Very sad really!!! :(

I agree, I may also be shopping online this year. These ads stink, there is nothing I need to jump up and run out the door on Thanksgiving to buy.

It's been very disappointing so far but there is some decent ads and sales I'm interested in. But the big ones (BB,WM,Kmart,Target) still don't have their full ad out so I'm kind of waiting to decide if I will partake in this years BF/DT sale or just go online to get the few things I want.
But based on past experiences, most retailers are pretty similar in what they offer on BF. So I don't expect anything grand from the others based off the already released ads.

I'm with ya'll on this. Nothing really good so far. Certainly nothing that I would consider a real "doorbuster" worth fighting the crowds for. I know, just be patient, the ads will come. I keep reminding myself of this and the fact that its only 11/11, we still have lots of time.

It's the stuff they don't put in the ads that get me to come. They always have stuff on sale that wasn't put in the ad. I usually just go to WM and price match CDs, Games, Toys and Movies then head to Target. The mall stores like JC Penny's never have anything that catch my eye

Other than the Skylanders starter pack for my son, there's no absolute must haves in any of the ads (so far). I did have 2 other items I wanted for my son (toys), but I already found them priced at $2 more than the Black Friday price, so I went ahead. If Old Navy has a decent ad, I might drive the 20 mins. to pick up a couple of sweaters for myself. But yeah, this year's ads are lame.

I feel the same way. I get those pj's every year. My kids aren't into Monster High, but I have a little Ninja Turtle Fan in my life that will be a happy camper on Christmas.
