Do you mean Slowaris?

I have a Sparc 10 workstation that had Slowaris on it. I immediately put NetBSD on the box.

Welcome to the forum, Gina. I am new here too. I was here last year but never posted. I decided to post this year. :D

A SS10? Wow, must have been Solaris 7. That was Slowaris. I'm installing Solaris 10 u6 on a dual-core Pentium D machine I have around so I can get my Sun Ray terminals working.

Yes, it was a SS10/Solaris 7. It turned me off from Solaris. I've always been a BSD man myself, but also enjoyed Red Hat before it went commercial. :)
Maybe I'll give Solaris another shot tho. :D It'll give me something to do.

Solaris 10 and OpenSolaris have come a long way from the bad old days. Solaris 10's Java Desktop System is based on GNOME, and includes Firefox, Pidgin IM, Flash, and StarOffice. I was surprised at its performance even on my old Ultra 60 with 256 MB RAM.
