S/B mostly good weather 2011, what's the worst yoy've had?

Postby BFVet » Wed Nov 23, 2011 11:54 am

I'm spoiled living in Florida. Never had rain. Worst was 6-7 years ago when it was low 40's / high 30's while waiting outside BestBuy. Wind was howling too so everyone was trying to huddle next to the building. Even though that's cold for us, at least you can dress for it. I don't know how y'all do it if it gets down to zero (grew up in Wisconsin and deer hunted in that bullshit) or deal with rain/snow.

Temps in the teens, with a sharp wind and a little rain. May not sound like much, but that's pretty bad for November in Oklahoma.

I've always wondered, has anyone had to sit through a hail storm?

The worst weather we've had in 2011 has been all of the tornadoes coming through here.

It's definitely been a strange year IMO. We had a lot of bad weather too. We had 2 tornadoes <both very minor F0 but still they were tornadoes!>. They both came out of the same storm! We have a double wide out in the country, no storm shelter, no where nearby to go, so imagine my panic!

We had a LOT of snow last winter, it wasn't a whole lot at once, but we had one storm after another so it seems, and totals were in the record stages for us.

They are predicting another busy winter. I love snow, I say bring it on :) But I don't like ice, or anything damaging.
We've had 2 major ice storms - 2003 and 2009, and they were BAD. Somehow in 2009 we didn't loose our electricity out here, how I don't know when so many around us were without it. I feel very very blessed, an angel was truly watching over us.

A tornado on Black Friday would present some challenges, but it'd likely clear out the lines a bit!

OOOhhhh. You meant for the whole year! Sorry, I just assumed it was a question about BF weather history.

Well this year has been weird weather wise. Tornadoes in spring (normal), then 100 straight days of 100+ heat, then more tornadoes, and now earthquakes (not sure if earthquake is weather, but I'm counting it)

We had snow/rain last year in Kentucky. Made for a yucky morning but once it cleared up it was a beautiful day!

LOL I read this post wrong <that's what I get for MULTI multitasking LOL> Worst weather, hmmm... last year was really cold and windy, and it was snowing, but didn't stick around longer than sunrise.
Otherwise, I think the weather has been just fine for BF, usually cloudy and cold, but that IMO just puts the Christmas spirit in place. I don't even mind it if it were to snow a little bit, but looks like it'll just be cold tomrorow night and mild on Fri.

If I remember right it was VERY VERY cold here in Wichita last BF. I don't remember ever having snow though.

our bfs have been mostly cold but not rainy or anything....

low tonight is 49 so not nearly as bad as last 2 years.

however we have had all kinds of craziness for OK this year....
Jan record cold 8+days
Feb=blizzard record snow @ one time
Mar flooding hit highest stage ever....our little local bridge was out almost a week
April recovering from floods
May-June record tornado activity(for OK thats a big record to break)
July-Aug record breaking heat 100+ for 40 of 45 days led to record draught
sept first quake
Nov 4 record breaking quakes in OK]
almost afraid to see what Dec will bring.
