Costco

Postby blue3715 » Tue Nov 10, 2015 10:27 pm

Another BF site has the Costco ad out. Be leary of their 65" HDTV. UN75JU650DFXZA for $1200 off. I think it comes to $2800.

It's the same as the Samsung UN75JU6500. No 3D support on this TV incase you like 3D. Might want to spring for the 7100 if you can though, the one connect mini will allow you to upgrade your ports in the future incase you ever need to.

And most importantly. the ju6500 is 60hz and lacks local dimming.

That's not their Black Friday ad. It's a pre-Thanksgiving sale and the ad has been on their own website for a bit now, so it's not a "leak" or anything. Also, the one they're offering is 120hz and not 60hz, and it does have dimming. http://www.costco.com/pre-holiday-wareh ... ffers.html

I disagree.. It says "Motion Rate 120", which is just a gimmick.

It is a 60hz tv. Just google "un75ju6500 60hz"

http://reviews.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/sam ... u6500.html

From the above site:

"The native panel refresh rate is only 60Hz for the JU6500 so you will see some judder on those movie scenes with side to side panning. The backlight manipulated Motion Rate is 120. This is another compromise for a lower price. If fast action sports programming is important to you, consider a higher refresh rate panel of 240Hz. You will likely notice the motion lag in fast moving scenes from movies and sports on the JU6500, especially in the larger size screens of 60” and up."

Thus you probably will see a lot more blur watching football and fast motion movies on this 75" tv.

-- there is a 120hz model... you should check the box at Costco before you walk out, and check the panel refresh rate. Don't look for Motion Rate 120, or 120Hz Effective Refresh Rate .. look for 120hz

and for a few 100 $ more, get the 7100. It's rated much higher on most tech forums

Well it's a 65" and not a 75", so...

I'm personally not a pixel peeper that scours the internet about specs. I'm not going to buy a TV without seeing it, so if it looks good to me in person, I couldn't care less what the specs say.

You cant go wrong with the UN65JS6500 for $1999. I agree its best to see the picture.

For 75 inch...

One thing I read, and like about the Vizio M75-c1 ($2400) is the screen is more matte, vs the glossy Samsung.

If you have windows that glare against the tv, you might wanna check that. This is why they often put the glare screen in the "dark" room. all depends if you watch sunday sports, or night movies/tv.

Sony XBR75X850C is down to $3k at Best Buy on BF, so im leaning that way.

The latter is a 75" and not a 65". Though I don't know what you're getting at.

why are you comparing two different TV's from two different years. I don't understand what your doing.
anyways, Samsung UN75F6300 65″ $1,999, is a 75" not 65"

My point was in just 1 year you can go from 65 to 75" for just $300 more. Same UNXXF6300 model.

Thanks for explaining. I, too, was very confused about what point you were trying to make, for example whether you thought the $300 difference was bigger than expected or if you thought it was smaller than expected, etc.

Usually going from 65 to 75" is a $800 jump.
