Doors open at 3pm

JCPenney will be opening their doors at 12:01 sharp on Black Friday, so they're taking a turn away from the "Grey Thursday" that many shopping fans are up-in-arms about - but just barely! They will remain open until 2PM on Black Friday. You can also shop the JCPenney Black Friday sale online "all day on Thanksgiving" and get free shipping on orders of $49 or more.

Similar to Macy's, JCPenney is holding a contest with your chance to win 1 of 10 $10,000 prizes, assorted money-off coupons, and potentially a $500 off $500 Super Savings Coupon! As is typical for JCPenney, their ad is filled with discounts on home items, jewelry, and apparel. Right off the bat we noticed the familiar $7.99 small kitchen appliances and $19.99 Womens Boots. They offer these every year and it gets us in the mood for long department store lines!

Notable Items:

Pinnacle Hardside Luggage (Any Size)- $39.99
Crosley Cruiser 3-Speed Portable Turntable- $49.99
Holiday Trim & Decor- 60% Off
Home Decor- 50% - 60% Off
Biddeford Twin or Full Heated Blanket (Assorted)- $29.99
Leila or Marika Comforter Sets (Any Size)- $17.99

Either way the store hours are very interesting.
Two(?) years ago when they had that entirely new marketing plan they didn't open with the regular mall stores and I feel like they lost a lot of business.
Last year they opened at 5 pm. And now 3 pm.

I know where I will be shopping at 3 pm ;)

There are 2 of the same ad going around. Apparently the 12:01 ad is for the blue law states. Not for certain though.

72 pages, goodness. They are throwing in everything but the kitchen sink. They have some really good deals though. Now if I can just be lucky enough to get that 500 off 500 coupon. LOL wishful thinking.

JCPenney announced today that this will be the final year that they are offering their beloved Disney Snow Globes. They also had the consumer in mind this year, when they decided that instead of forcing diehard collectors to miss family time and stand in line on Thanksgiving, that they will hand them out at 3PM on Black Friday. Strategic sales strategy, or just them being super thoughtful? You decide!

They also announced that they will be offering an undisclosed number of Thanksgiving Day shoppers an envelope containing a coupon worth up to $500 Off $500 purchase, and the minimum amount being $10 off $10. The coupon can be used in combination with Black Friday prices and can be used immediately. The envelope will also contain an exclusive entry code that you can use to enter their JCPenney Black Friday Sweepstakes for a chance to win one of ten $10,000 cash grand prizes. The contest ends on November 30. It's the last year for snowglobes, and buttons have not returned, what will JCPenney have up their sleeves next year?
