Retail Stores online shopping

Postby jasons9745 » Thu Nov 13, 2014 9:41 am

Do we have a rundown of stores that will be allowing black friday shopping online this year and at what time each begins?

Kohls is the only ad to specifically mention anything iirc. There's starts the Tuesday before.

As for others, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy generally have some up Thanksgiving morning but when the ads kick in are always a guesstimate since it's never the same every year.

Target usually does an early bird sale for card holders.

How is this advertised? I have a Target RedCard and this is my first year having one. I however rarely ever go to Target since the closest one is an hour from me.

One thing to keep in mind if you plan on doing Black Friday shopping online...

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE IT IN YOUR HAND, THEN YOU DO NOT NECESSARILY HAVE THE ITEM.

While each store may only have 10 of one item, the website may only have 100 of the same item. What's the big deal you ask? There may be 50 people at your local store trying to get one of those 10 items. Whereas online, you have the entire country/world trying to get those 100 items. Servers crash, companies back-order and even sell out. Every year we have people come here stating "yay I got X product from Y store online with no wait, yada yada yada". 4 days later when the sales are over they come back "I got an email from Y store that X product was sold out and was getting a refund". It happens every year. If there is a product you REALLY WANT, then you may want to go to the store and get it. That way it is in your hand, it's yours, and it's guaranteed. Otherwise just because you place an order online, doesn't mean it's guaranteed.

Stores have gotten better about this as of last year, but it's still not fool-proof and not guaranteed. Keep that in mind!

What have you seen? Very big electronic purchases (specifically tvs) seem to be the only ones I see get canceled...

Last year they had ads on the website and in store. Possibly also sent emails to redcard users but I don't remember....

I've seen a slew of items but honestly can't remember specifics.

They will send an email and we will let you know. They don't have everything for pre-sale FYI.
