Typically from my understand the only ones that will ring up as BF prices are ones that have a little color sticker on it. the color of the circle will match up to a list of prices. Example last year when they sold the Arkham City someone got one out of the case and tried to have them ring it up and it came up at the reg 40 something price.

Same thing at our Walmarts as well. If it doesn't have the sticker, it won't ring up the sale price. Had that problem with the movies a couple of years ago, and it still hasn't changed. There was a lady at the register next to me raising a big stink about it with DVDs last year. She got the DVD titles in Electronics since they were guarding the pallets of them like they were the Hope Diamond, and when I was checking out, they still hadn't let anyone get to the pallets. All of the DVDs she got were ringing up regular price and she was livid. They wouldn't price match them either.

I got one of the 1 hour guarantee cards for the $98 TV...arriving at the store about 15 minutes before the 6:00pm sale start. No line and just got a card as the store was out of stock. I didn't mind...that way I didn't have to mess with hauling a TV around with the store so busy. So Friday I finished my purchase by going online to get the TV sent to the store for pickup in December. To my surprise, the model being sold on Black Friday is not what is being sent because it is out of stock. So they substituted a 32" Element. Now I know that is still not a great brand, but I have had an Element TV for 2 years and had no issues with it.

Anyhow, kudos to Walmart for offering the one hour guarantee and making good on their promise...even substituting different product. The guarantee is probably the main reason I didn't consider Target or Best Buy to shop at for a cheap TV. Hopefully Walmart will continue this program in the coming years.

Same thing here... they substituted mine with an Emerson... a much nicer one with more HDMI inputs and stuff. I'm glad.

I'm pretty sure Emerson is a subsidiary of Funai, so it's basically the exact same tv.

But with more HDMI inputs which is very helpful. Also, I compared the specs and they aren't exact.. they are better.

at my parents walmart they let some people get the wristbands early and others had to wait in line. i saw they had given out wrist bands for the tvs and were giving the guarantee cards before 6:00. my parents wanted the 6 pm laptop and they stood in line until 6 pm and walked out with the item in hand.

there was another girl telling people that if there was a 1-hour guarantee on an 8 pm item they were handing out the wristbands at 6 pm. not sure how correct that was but my parent said they heard the same thing.

Interesting first experience with the one hour guarantee at central Arkansas Walmart. In line at 6:15 for the 6-7pm Ipad Mini guarantee. About 7:07 was about 15 people front of the line and the associate comes out and says that no one else after a woman about 3 back from the front would get the item. Thankfully the associate who had been monitoring the line and had cut it off at 7pm as per the policy had a hissy fit on our behalf! The first associate said the checkers were all past their work time and it was time for them to go. We were all shocked!

Same guy walks out about 10 minutes later and says again that none of us would get the guaranteed item. Second associate (Erica - we are all cheering for her at this point by name) again stands up for us saying no Wal-mart has to honor this. Finally get to checkout and the checker calls up front and says "can I just stop selling these when I run out of cards"? She probably has 5 more cards at this point and 25 people in line who were in line during the one hour guarantee time. She was clearly tired and annoyed. I left and am not sure what happened but if weren't for Associate Erica, there would have been a mutiny!

Hit walmart for the 75 cent Coke 2 liters on Saturday. Talked to the checkout woman. She said things at this location were pretty calm even though crowded. much better than past years. I mentioned the guarantee cards. She said nobody had trained them on how to do them and she knows she rang a whole bunch up wrong before figured it all out. She was hoping the people could get it fixed.

I was at a Walmart in Jackson, Mississippi. My dad and I didn't show up until almost 6:30 or so and headed straight to the area where the line for the $98 TVs was. Walmart's policy online clearly stated that everyone in line between 6pm and 7pm was guaranteed the opportunity to purchase the item, and as such, they had a person keeping up with the end of the line so they could cut it off at 7pm. However, they kept running out of the vouchers for the TVs and had to go print more with a barcode on them for the cashier to scan. My dad and I got up to near the front (about 15 people back) at about 6:55 (having been in line since about 6:40, knowing that by the policy we were safe). At that point an associate said they didn't have any more vouchers to give out and that they wouldn't be because they were only allowed to give so many out. That caused quite a stir, of course, and the store manager who was nearby came over to try and calm people down. He said they could give out 25 more and that was it because it was 7:00 (it was only 6:57 by that time)....even though the policy clearly stated everyone IN LINE between those times was guaranteed. Some lady was videoing on her phone and made him clarify again and said she was going to send the video to Bentonville, AR headquarters...he had the cops escort her out. He then came back and said they had 29 vouchers instead, so he had his assistant manager count off 29 people and said everybody else in line (who had been there before the 7pm cutoff) wouldn't be getting one. Both my dad and I got a voucher for one, but this Walmart was clearly not following the policy from corporate that was advertised everywhere.

I'd personally rather have Funai than Emerson.
