Bottom line, I found it first and reported it to people I thought would appreciate it before it was on the front page. Any shoutout to alert readers on the front page?

And the comments were pretty snarky IMO. There were several I thought I might get like:

Thanks!
Good Job!
Nice Catch!
Like those $10 toasters!
Wonder if those earrings are worth it?
Can't wait for the rest of the items!

or even, "sorry, was posted by ______ on ______ before you!"

but nope, instead posts (from "pros") belittling the info first stating it was "just a pinterest post" (without bothering to check it seems that this was the official Macy's page posting it) then downgrading it because it was not the "full" ad.

And nice attempt on the save here, but there was no "yeah its nice.." in the responses.

Sorry I bothered some people with the news...

Allow me to say thanks for posting it. Although I don't shop at a Macy's during BF, it does help me figure out if people will be there instead of where I'm going to be. You did just fine.
As far as shirt worthy, it's a pretty tight requirement for those as they aren't free to have made up. NOBODY but the OWNERS/MODS can decide that. Anybodies opinion outside of them doesn't matter. Just remember that. Don't let this stop you. This might be the only thing for a couple weeks that leaks out and you are helping this site and the people who enjoy it by posting it. For every person who interjects their two cents about it's "only a Pinterest thing", there is plenty you helped.
As far as the ad scan, I do know Mike and others likes an actual ad to be scanned just because on things like Pinterest or FB, things change as opposed to "hard copy" ads which are usually rock solid guarantees.
Outside of this, allow me to again say thanks and welcome aboard.

Am I missing something about tshirts. Is there a prize if you scoop them or something?

If I'm not mistaken, at one point YEARS ago if you produced an actual ad, you would get a few bucks or a shirt. Now a days, they pass them out through contests and such but if you got your hands on, say Walmart's or Best Buy's BF entire ad early, I'm sure someone would reward you.

Loved reading the C&D letters Mike would get. Some looked like they came from law offices I imagine looked like Saul Goodman's set-up. Others were the real cut throat, vulture type.

I liked the response letters that they'd send to the companies, decked out in Lisa Frank stickers and written in highlighters. :)

The latest macy 8 page doorbuster has some nice deals. The ad itself has some great deals if you know what you are looking for...but I know Macys is going to have sales throughout until Christmas and of course after Christmas with additional coupons. Of course, not to mention when clearance come around!

I think it depends really on whether or not you want to make sure you get a specific something before they run out during the season.
