Anyone from Long Island? This may be my first year trying to score some deals.
What are the lines like?

Me!
The lines depend on where you go lol I have only been in my area, so I am not sure what they are like elsewhere. And now that TRU and BRU are under the same roof I am not sure how it will work. BRU was the best to get in and get out.

My plan is Best Buy and Target but I'm betting there will be a lot of competition. I'm interested in seeing how opening on Thanksgiving is going to affect things if at all. I'm hoping lines will be shorter but it may be just wishful thinking.

Re: Long Island
I've never done Best Buy, but I'd assume that the line starts a few days before. I usually start at Target and get there an hour and half/2 hours before and the line in around the building, but I usually can get what i want.
This Thanksgiving thing does throw a big wrench in all the plans, definitely

Re: Long Island
It really does! I'm worried about Best Buy but if I don't think I can get what I want I may just jump over to Target. I agreed to come in to work in the morning on Thanksgiving for a few days so a coworker can leave faster so I'm limited as far as when I can get in lines. I'm glad that K-mart is doing their online sale this weekend because I want something there too and now there's a possibility I can get it.
I know someone who works at TRU/BRU. I don't think they'll be working but I'm curious to hear how Black Friday pans out there. The one time I went out on Black Friday was to Walmart a few years ago. I showed up after store opening and the line wrapped in a square around the entire store to the entrance. The shelves were a mess too but there were still some good deals around.
To think it's less than a week away!

Re: Long Island
Plans changed due to early online shopping. Looks like I'll be heading to Target tomorrow. If not I may try Walmart for a price match or K-mart for a different item.
Then there's always the back up plan of Amazon or Cyber Monday...

Good luck!!
I am starting at Target then going to Kohls.
I never start at Walmart... too crazy! Lines are usually long too.

Good luck to you too!
Maybe we'll run into each other and not even know it. I'm thinking I'll join vine and document my adventure. I'm not going for much but I want to have fun and enjoy it.

I spoke too soon again. Got what I needed from Target.com (set an alarm to wake up at 3am for it - going back to bed now!). That leaves K-mart! Guess we won't run into each other lol. Good luck anyhow!
