Yes it is! Actually I was going to recommend that and apologize for not posting it earlier in my first response as I missed it. but I was upgrading my water cooler in my computer and have not gotten on till now. You can do that and a graphics upgrade and you would be all set.

Yes the other parts are sufficient, not sure about the power supply but you will need to add a graphics card, i think they will have at least one pci slot free just hope you will be able to fit a graphics card. My graphics card take up space for 2 slots so check that out too.

Disclaimer: I'm by no means an expert, but I do have some good ideas. A rule of thumb is 100 bucks per CPU level. An example is 300 max for an i3, 500 for an i5. I advocate an Intel processor over an AMD, like 8gb of RAM and at least 1TB of space on the hard drive. An i5 is the minimum for enjoyable high end gaming. If the power supply is at least 650 watts you'll be okay.

Lastly, and most importantly is the video card. Most retailers will let you upgrade your card for a nominal cost. Any internet search for video card benchmarks will bring up an outstanding site to compare cards and choose the best one for your needs.

Happy shopping.

Please do not take retailer upgrades lol they are usually double the price! And there is also probably a service fee. If it doesn't come in the pre built system then dont take those "offers" lol. Usually what retailers consider to be "top end" are just below mid range i remember they advertised a gt 440 as high end gaming rofl. Don't fall for that. Plus on your budget your probably looking at lower- mid range gaming maximum unless you build your own pc and sacrifice a lot on the processor etc.

That is a good deal. that processor will overclock very well later down the road if you opt to go that route, not to mention last a long time since that is intels latest processor and supports the latest pci-e 3.0 for high end graphics cards. pretty much when you are ready for a good gaming PC, drop in a higher wattage psu and a high end graphics card and watch your PC tear thru any modern game to date.

toss a monitor on that and you are good to go.

optional upgrades that I will recommend as well that are not needed but nice to have for show/slight performance boost(as the geek inside of me demands perfection):

-get at least a 120gig ssd(can be bigger if ya want to) for a boot drive and watch your computer boot lightning fast. on sale these can go as low as 49.99 for BF prices. non BF prices lowest I have seen is 69.99. the SSD market is very competitive right now, so do some research before you buy.

- 16 gigs of ram with speed of at least ddr3-1600. if at all possible go as high as your motherboard will support(again not necessary but great for bragging)

-Upgrade the cpu cooler. most pre-builts use intels stock cooler which is not the best. Hint: heat kills computers and thier performance so keeping everything cool is a must. Depending on when you upgrade and limitations due to your case, you have 2 options: air cool or liquid cool with liquid cool normally being better. If you do the liquid cool route start with closed loop systems, meaning that its pre built so all you have to do is install it, normally where an existing exhaust fan was located. corsair h60, antec kuhler 620 or thermaltake water 2.0 are all good options. again research before you buy.

if you do not want liquid cooled there are several aftermarket cpu air coolers that will also do. the most popular/recommended one is COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO, which is currently on sale for 24.99. the thing with that is it is HUGE and can be a tight fit depending on your motherboard layout and case size.

- case. sometimes adding the above recommendations makes your case get a little crowded. there are several great vendors for cases, so research before you buy.

Remember the above points are optional and can be done later down the road as your needs evolve.

If you ever have any questions, let me know. again good job on your purchase! and remember a PC is like a car, if you do not take care of it, its not going to last as long as you like. Vaccum/blow the dust out monthly from your case.

Well the computer and the monitor are here, we will be setting it up later, after I surprise my son with it! Nick, I may pick your brain down the road, thanks for the offer :)
