They had the managers playing cop & yelling at people that if they saw them trying to break into a pallet early, they would be immediately escorted from the store. It was awful...had they let people line up at the registers before 10, the aisles wouldn't have been at a stand still.

That being said, I'm not sure what is done with clothing...anyone know how they do things in that section? I don't think they can put clothes on pallets, so how do they stop people from picking out clothes before 8? Or do they not really care?

depending on the item they usually are. they don't hang them up. they're usually packaged in a way that they can be put easily inside a large box and wrapped up.

last year i saw they had entire sections roped off with tape. we weren't there for clothing so we were unsure if that was their way to keep people out?? it was very bizarre.

I can't speak to black friday, but being from the south I know that this is what the supercenters do for the blue laws.
Lots of places in the bible belt a store can't be open before a certain time on Sunday, with an exception for grocery stores. Stores that sell grocery items but are also a regular retailer, like WalMart, can sell things from their grocery department, but not from the rest of the store. So they rope off every other department starting at midnight Sunday morning.
It's extraordinarily strange... kind of makes you ponder how outdated those laws are...

Yeah some counties still do have the blue laws. When I first moved to NJ I was shocked that the malls were closed on Sunday..... :o

I am amazed at the places (like NJ?) that can't be open on Sundays. I am in the heart of the bible belt (near Liberty University, Jerry Fartwell, etc), yet everywhere in VA is open on Sundays. lol

Here's my question for BF vets: If you were wanting to wait in line for a 10PM TV sale at Wal-Mart...how early would you want to think of getting in line? My gut is telling me 5PM (my town is a population of 10K...so everyone goes to Wal-Mart). I'm saying 5PM because of the 8PM sale...so people will want to get there early for that one possibly. All these Event 1, Event 2, Event 3's are messing with my strategy lol

It really depends. There's one WM in my area where 5 would probably be early enough, the next one over it would be closer to 3pm

I'd go to sears and get the Toshiba 50'' LED for 299 if I was you. The mystery tv on the last page on the bottom right is a Panasonic plasma btw if you were wondering.

My coworker is wondering about the trampoline at Walmart or Kmart. How many you think they will have per store? If she calls a couple of days before would they tell her? I have never went for something that bulky or big on BF so I was at loss as what to tell her.
