Oh and to actually answer your question about other people skipping BF, I've heard of a lot more people skipping it this year than the last couple of years only on various BF forums. The few people I know that actually do BF are still doing it this year.
But I gues we will have to wait and see tomorrow whether or not we notice an increase or decrease in people!

Well, it turns out that I skipped Black Friday shopping this year, at least the early-morning part of it. I woke up at around 9:30am. I had set my alarm for 4:00am, but I wasn't feeling well enough to shop so I just went back to sleep. To tell you the truth, I just wasn't motivated to go this year. There wasn't anything that I especially wanted to get. And, I don't really feel that bad about it either. I don't feel as if I've missed out on much.

Shopper X : I hope you are feeling better
You did not miss much

I went out at 5 AM; had to go by myself because my neighbor was feeling sick too
Walmart was crowded, more than I had ever seen it on a BF
I got what I wanted, which was all lesss than $100

I skipped the Nintendo as they are cheaper on Amazon
I did get the DVD player and the case, the mixer , a pair of PJs and boys jeans

I went to Michael's waited in the cold (Yes Virginia, it gets cold in Florida)
Got right in and out but only decided on one item

Went to Walgreens There was a LONG LONG Line to buy Wbkinz at 7 AM I got 4 and a remote controlled Heli ($10) I was at the front of the line by luck
I went to Books A Million

They gave you a bag, and anything you could stuff into that one bag (one bag only per person) was 20% everything in the bag
SO I loaded up there

On the way home, stopped at an out of the way Walgreens, the webkinz there (B1G1F) were practically untouched

I took my son out later
We went to several stores the crowds were much much less than normal for BF
Walmart at 5 PM was practically empty
We got food items and got right in line no waiting

The items I saw people buying were strictly the sales items

I saw a few people buying big TVs Hope they can afford the electric bill
Several websites say that the best time to buy those is mid december or the spring

I have found all my shopping done and very little of it was done on BF
