New TV console table, suggestions needed.

Postby blue3715 » Mon Nov 09, 2015 3:37 pm

I just tossed my old monster 60" rear projection tv.. For giggles, the dimensions were 62" W x 48" H x 33" D.

Anyways, I also tossed a crappy cabinet holding my dvd player, cable box, receiver, and base (out firing).

My wall is 10ft across and I will be mounting (or table standing) a 70-75" tv. This requires a console table that is over 50" across.

I dont want a pience of junk, and as I will probably wall mount the TV, a console 20" high is fine.

I found this one on Amazon.

I'm going in the $250 range. The one I linked is 72 x 16.5 x 20.5 inches , and a hefty 115 pounds (nice and sturdy).

Do you have your own recommendations? If not open shelves, I prefer it to have glass doors. It also should be 60-72" across.

thanks.

Brian

p.s. As I am going to wall mount it, I will probably use wire hiders to run the HDMI(s).

Also need a decent soundbar for a current 55" tv. Like to spend under $150. I see one for $88 (Samsung) on target but it seems like a real cheapo.

I have that one, and it's actually really good!

Ok. thanks.

I don't have a Samsung so I'll have to buy an optical cable. They are only like $8.

I can't find the Wattage of the speakers/sub. Can you tell me?

I'm guessing 80W speakers, 40W sub?

I honestly don't remember what the wattage is. I use HDMI for mine rather than optical.

HDMI for a soundbar? Interesting.

So still looking for a console idea...

I also like this one. http://www.amazon.com/Sonax-B-207-CHT-7 ... Y4XJJN5ZX1

I won't wall mount my 75" tv because:

It is 38" tall, and if I want (recommended) the TV to be centered at eye level (38" off floor), then the bottom has to be 19" high. But as my couch is about 15 feet from the tv, giving a small 1 degree up angle viewing, the TV actually should be centered 22" off the floor.

The console stand is 20" high. Adding 3" for the TV feet), that's 23", so it's about perfect.
Probably works out so I don't have to hide the wires up the wall, and I really don't look forward to trying to mount an 85 lb tv.
