My parents bought a 32 inch Emerson tv 3 years ago and it has worked great. Incredible picture and great sound. It's one that gets alot of use also. They are in the market for something a little bigger like the 40 inch Element at Walmart. It doesn't have to be the best tv as they will probably upgrade again in a year or so. Sometimes just because something is off brand doesn't mean it's junk. I guess it depends on the person and how much the tv gets used.

Actually I've had Vizio and ended up taking it back to the store in less than a week because it was a piece of crap. The sound was horrible and picture quality was bad as well. They may upgrade because they are undecided on size. May get a 40 inch this year to see how they like it and maybe get a 50 inch next time.

I got my parents a 40" Emerson at Walmart 2 years ago and they rarely turn it off and it's still working well.

Wait, you mean TVs can actually turn off?

You wouldn't think they would judging by house. There's 4 TVs on in this house almost ALWAYS.
