Thanks for the link. Decent predictions, I think.

for the 32" non-name brand at $250, seems very likely. In this weeks Target ad, they have a Vizio for $299 already, so $250 for BF should be possible.

but, is Vizio considered a non-name brand anymore? in terms of volume, they are one of the biggest sellers. between Costco, Sams, Target, and Wally, they are everywhere in retail, and are also big on Amazon. I know they are not considered cream of the crop, but of the 4 or 5 I have had a hand in purchasing, they have all been excellent.
though there is the recent issue of them being more costly to repair than to replace, that doesnt mean they have a high rate of failures. at one point they did have a high return rate, but that was mostly due to Costcos lifetime satisfaction policy at the time, and people abusing it as a lifetime upgrade program. and it is not just Vizios that are often deemed more costly to repair than replace. I have a client who services many brands of TVs under factory service, and he has that come up all the time. the manufacturer will often tell him to pass on the repair, as they are just going to replace it for the customer instead. in the end, he winds up with a slew of sets taking up room in his facility.

Sansui is a no-name brand in the sense that it's not one of the major players.
