I had no intentions of shopping on Thanksgiving, but my daughter is working at Target. She started right before they opened but we got into town a bit early and decided to check out Walmart. They had their pallets wrapped and even though a few were unattended, everyone was waiting aside patiently. The girls found a game they wanted and hid it in the clothing department lol. We then went to Target. Security was letting employees in the side door. A police officer was there, but even though the line went from Target, past Dick's and PetSmart, everyone was pretty mellow. I picked up some towels for my foster cats and a few movies. Check out went quickly. Then we headed to Walmart. I got more towels and it took a few minutes, but we found the game they stashed. We checked out Michael's and I got some of the beads that were 70% off.

All in all, everyone was nice. I did accidentally run into the lady in front of me with my cart at Target. I felt horrible and apologized but she just gave me the look of death.

Anyway, my daughter got the XBox One she wanted from Target with the $40 gift card online. I also ordered some movies at Target online.

I couldn't find the deal on the phone I wanted for my daughter. Last year BB had the Moto G for $9.99 but hers crapped out a month ago while trying to install and update. Verizon, and BB couldn't help much I got tired of trying to get through to Motorola, so I thought I could just replace it on BF, but the deal didn't show up. :(

My daughter doesn't have a car, so we picked her very tired self up at 2am. She said all the customers were nice and polite to each other and her, so that helped her long shift.

Heading to Michael's this morning to get some art pads for kids.

ETA that my daughter bought an XBox not PS and was horrified at my mistake

For the first time in many years I didn't make a list or game plan this year. I barely even looked at the ads this year. Well as a result, I surprised myself with no big, notable deals this year. Had to work 3-8:30am. Came home, fixed a couple pies to take to my parents' for dinner and took a 3hr nap. Woke up, showered and went to pick up my daughter (who has been bugging me for the last couple weeks that she'd rather spend Thanksgiving with me then with her mom's friends). After dinner at my parents, we played a game of Scrabble til around 10pm...At that point I was exhausted so for safety sake we wound up spending the night on my parents' couch (my brother & his kids had the spare bedroom--thankfully my daughter's small). We got up around 5am, quietly had a cup of coffee (kid had cocoa) and left a thank you note for my parents.

For a change I decided to hit up their local Target first, which was pretty mellow at that point. Managed to grab the couple TV seasons I wanted there, and noticed they still had all the TV doorbusters in stock. The video game display was empty, come to find out the employees decided to put them inside the game case after the storm last night. As I mentioned in another thread, I was looking through the video games for a game my nephews wanted, when I turned around and my daughter was gone. I ran around the store in a frantic looking for her, on my 3rd lap around I finally found her looking at something in sporting goods. Scolded her for walking away without saying anything to me (she knows better than to do that). A couple older ladies witnessed that ordeal and just gave me that "how dare you yell at your kid" stare. We then proceeded to check out and headed across the street to Walmart. I decided to grab a cart so I could keep better tabs on the kid, which ended up being a mistake as we ended up walking out with one only ONE DVD. Everything was either out of stock there or simply nothing we needed. After Walmart, we hit up Home Depot for a free cup of coffee/cocoa and some cheap batteries!

Next store we hit up was Kmart, grabbed some sheets and some Captain America PJ's for the kiddo which she insisted on changing into when we got back to the truck (we hadn't been home since Thursday AM so we were wearing clothes we slept in). Next store, Big Lots, which we walked out of empty handed. Next stop, the mall/2nd Target -- This stop was crazy. We guessed that the mall must have been closed last night, but we didn't see any signs indicating whether they were or not, but regardless they were packed. We didn't grab a cart as we were only looking for a couple items ($79 Keurig, TV seasons). The DVD displays were set up with mini aisles between them in the middle of the store which made looking through them difficult. Shoppers insisting on pushing empty carts through them, I was hit 4 times by one woman who i swear was doing it on purpose. Another woman, kept talking to herself, and at one point I heard her say "If I can't find my movies I'm going to run you all down!" I grabbed the kid, and proceeded out of that hell-hole and into the mall. Spent more than I ever spent at FYE, got a couple cinnamon sugar pretzels from Auntie Anne's which brought back memories of the many winter evenings the kid & I mall-walking when she was a baby, when she was teething I would buy her a soft pretzel to gum down. After we finished our pretzel break, we hit up D1ck's Sporting Goods and headed for Sears, only to find out they had closed :O Oh well, hit up Best Buy next, and just walked out with ~$50 worth of Blu-rays this year.

Headed home, we hit up a couple more Walmart stores. The kid was starting to get tired/ cranky at Walmart #4 and the store was pretty calm so I sent her on a hunt for a couple DVDs back in electronics as I dug through those cardboard shippers in the front of the store. Just as soon as she walked away a little brawl broke out less than 10 feet from me, apparently some woman started to walk off with another woman's cart. I saw the whole thing and knew it was simply an accident, both carts had roughly the same amount of stuff inside, and parked next to each other the woman just grabbed the wrong cart. That didn't stop the other woman from running after her and jumping her from behind. It took myself and three associates to break them up. I gave the AP personnel my statement as a witness and proceeded to check out with the DVDs my kid found. When we left, the woman who was jumped was being treated for minor abrasions to the head and the other woman was sitting in the back of a police cruiser. Ridiculous, I don't recall seeing that much action on BF in many years and to think this was HOURS after the sale had started.

Be sure to order you a charger for it. They do not come with a charger.

Well, if you read my post in the Koh's forum, you know how that went.... :( other than that, it went pretty smooth.

I was able to order most of the stuff I was wanted online except the XBox so I wasn't really looking for much out in the stores. Started at JCPenney getting a coupon, ran down to Belk to get the gift card. Then off to Kohls, Target, and Best Buy. My sister was getting her daughter a new phone so we were in Best Buy forever... back to the mall to actually shop at JCP and Belk. Home to sleep, then back at Belk's for 6am card giveaway. Went to Walmart that was dead by now and still got everything I wanted from there. Back home....thought I might go back out but never made it... :)

One good thing that happened: my sister was getting a new phone and was getting a $250 Best buy card for that. The guy that checked her out told her she would get another $200 gift card if she traded in a old smart phone.... I had an old she gave me at home...the guy said as long as we made it back by 1AM it was fine. So we go back around 10ish and go up to the checkout with the phone... long story short..that deal went out weeks ago but the manager gave her the gift card anyway and when she went to use it, there was $250 on it...so she really scored on that one!!!

Why did it not come with a charger? It Nintendo going the route the printer companies have gone where they sell you the device but to get the full functionality you have to buy the cables separately?

I started Thursday at jcp. Got there about 10 till opening and the lines were crazy. Still got a $10 gift card. Got some items at the sephora and then headed out to the home store in hopes of a second gift card. But no luck. They must have had less or maybe none at all??
Got my blanket, sheet set and hand towels.

Then headed back to the mall to wait for the younkers opening. Had hopes of a gift card here too but no luck either. Younkers handed out very large plastic bags you could use for carrying items. I filled it up with 2 Calvin Klein pillows for $8 each (super nice!), popcorn popper, wine bottle opener and mattress topper. Couldn't carry anymore so I checked out.

Then went to target for their opening. Just wanted the sharper image USB charger. Got it and then saw a cat playhouse I really needed for my cats and foster kittens. Not on sale lol

Then went to gordmans. Didn't find anything I needed. Went back to the mall that opened at 6. Went to bath and body works and got my items.

Then took another trip to younkers to get some boots, boot rack and pack of hangers.

At that time my friend said she was on her way and we met at Kohl's. we both got a pile of stuff and sat in the always forever long line the takes like an hour to get through.

Theeeennnnnnmm we headed out to the fancy mall. Which was a huge bust. None of the good stores were open. Super lame. My friend got some stuff at stores I had already been too.

I had a late Chinese dinner at about 11.

Then to Ulta and picked up some items. Then Walmart. No air fryers :(. Wasn't surprised cuz the cheap one at Kohl's went fast.

Home about 1 am.
Back up Friday morning at 6.
At Home Depot about 6:15.
Then petsmart at 7 to get my cat litter.
Then world market.

Then breakfast at cracker barrell and then home :)

Overall a very successful Black Friday!!

That's exactly what's happening. Some of the prepaid cell phones are going that route too. But on the bright side, the charger cords aren't all that expensive. We go through chargers like crazy in my house due to my not noticing them when I vacuum. The last 3DS charger I bought for my kiddo's system was only $3.99 with free shipping on ebay.

I don't know. Since I had 3 hours to stand in line between the time I had my cart full until it was time to checkout, I was just bored so looking at the package I saw the fine print that it didn't include a charger.

Cost-cutting. The nominal explanation is that most people will already own a Nintendo, so they won't need an additional charger.

I went out at 12 am Friday and did Walmart, target, and kohls. I took a little break until 5 when GameStop opened up, which the line was so long that it took over an HOUR to get through! By that time Staples was open so we went down to pick up the Echo dot. Took a trip down to Big Lots for K cups, I think we were the only people there. Then went to stand in line at Petsmart till its opening to get the $50 cat tree (our cat is so happy) and some kitty stocking stuffers. I couldn't even enter the cat treat isle because it was chaos! So many people with their carts taking their good ole time...After that we were starting to drag but we forced ourselves to the mall, best buy, and IKEA. Headed home with some fast food and took a 6 hr nap! I made my online purchases when I woke up. I had a great time shopping, but I missed out on ONE item! A soundbar...So I'm hoping to find a good price soon on one since they were sold out during BF. Overall, a pretty successful night/day!

Went to JCP at 3:30 to grab some coupons. Didn't get any big ones so headed back home to wait for my mom.

Got mom dropped off at Walmart around 4:30, showed her where the sheets were so camped her there. the bins were all uncovered & signs everywhere saying prices would not ring up till 6. picked out the sheets we wanted then a yellow vest kid said we can't put things in the cart till 6. of course everyone else was sooooooo, waited till he turned his back, threw the sheets in the basket then told mom to run around till 6.

I then headed to Kohls. Wasn't too much of a line when I got there but it longer & longer then wrapped around the building. Talked to several folk & told them about BFAds. There was a younger pregnant lady & her sister sitting in the line in front of me. The pregnant gal got up & waddled to the doors hoping they would let her in for the bathroom. I asked her sister when she was due and she said TODAY!! Man, that is dedication. I got a ticket for my son's camera & when the doors opened I found where it was, grabbed a couple of other things & headed to checkout. I spent more time in line waiting on the checker & 3 others trying to get the security device off the box!! In & out of store & back to Walmart at 6:23.

Found mom who had a cart full of other stuff and then the wait began. Not sure what time I got out but headed to Best Buy after that. I needed a power supply for my son's computer so grabbed it & gave a BFAds sticker to the older gentleman guarding the bathrooms. Guess they had him staked out to deter creative shopping! While waiting in line I grabbed some SD cards.

Decided to go relax at the casino till Bath & Body Works opened at 6am. Strangest thing happened is that I ran into a gal that had the same golden shirt on! what are the odds??

Hit JCP after hiding out for awhile & hung out there till the mall opened. Snagged my bag at Bath & Body Works then headed home.

2 hour nap then JCP again, Target & got the last Ipad2 for MIL.

Was in line at BB Wednesday, until I had to go inside and work lol. Someone had messed up and put the sale price on one of the tvs out too early, so I was able to pick it up, and so were a couple customers. then we took the sign down. got to go home and sleep in my bed, rather than outside in line.

Thursday, got up and went to walgreens for buy 2, get 2 toys for my friend's toy drive. then hit kmart for a while. then back to bb to work. I think we got through the night ok. no fights, our line never got out of control. after work (1 am), went to hot topic and picked up the gold bb8 and a couple other things.

Friday, slept in, then back to walgreens to exchange a couple girl toys for boy toys. then bb to work at 2, supposed to be off at 1045, but we had customers till about 1030, then it took us almost 2 hours to clean up our dept, so didn't get out till about 1215.

Saturday, bb again 9-5:30. then went to Disney store and hot topic.

Sunday, bb supposed to be 1030-530, ended up being 1030-730.

So basically a lot of working, and a little shopping.
I'm addicted!
