Well the TV did have an HD tuner inside. Those things were actually expensive to manufacturer back than since it required a separate chip just to process the over the air wave HD. It wasn't until 2008 when a tuner came cheap enough to be a standard feature. Tuner's aren't cheap to add on either, I bought one for my set and it cost $180 and to get an understanding of how valued they were in 2009, I sold it used for $150 and guy asked why I was selling it so cheap.

I recently went to a house sale. They had a standard older 40" LCD TV.. the price label said $5,000. I asked the sale lady about the wrong label.

She said the label was right, that this was one of the first ones they made and the family paid $20k for it, so they wanted to get a decent price.

I started to laugh and offered $50, she smiled and said the family was firm.

So funny.

I have seen quite a few estate sales that have high prices. Other upper crust clients come in and pay the asking price. That is even funnier when you see the junk that they buy.
