Anti Spam Bot filter

Postby Kento87 » Sat Nov 01, 2014 8:29 am

Do you not require the GIF image decoder super secret question/answer to try and thwart the bots/spammers?

Just asking, not criticizing or anything like that.

Image CAPTCHA filters have been cracked for at least the past five years. Spam bots can automatically decode a majority of those images.

A yahoo (or google/bing/whoever) bot isn't what causes spam, that's just the search engine gathering info.

Thank, I noticed it in multiple forums and became less paranoid as last night went by. The last noticeable spammer was in the spring and I hope they find more attention getting places to troll.

we have a captcha on our company website and seriously it's the most annoying effing thing ever. a large portion of the companies we deal with have their internet security so tight that they can't see the stupid thing so they can't even use our website. (and they're likely using some lame version of IE)
