Xbox gaming tower needed or no?

Postby harleygirl6363 » Mon Nov 16, 2009 2:29 pm

I heard that the XBOX has problems overheating or something like that would it be a good idea to get the gaming tower to help with this? JcPenny is having one on sale for 48.88 on BF this looks like a good deal. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance!!

I think you are talking about those cooling towers right? Eh... no you really don't need it. I have a few friends that have an xbox and never had a problem with overheating.

Yeah it runs hot if you are playing for hours and hours that's all.

My kids will play for hrs and hrs but we haven't had any overheating problems. I tell them to make sure not to put anything on the vents

Never have had over heating problems with my xbox. My is also kept in an entertainment enclosure with glass doors on the front and it gets really hot in there if I don't open them but even that hasn't caused me any problems.

My 360 got the red ring of death, but ever since never had any problems. I've accidentally left it on over night, doesn't seem to have bothered it. I just raise it up off the desk with small wooden pieces for better airflow.

I don't think that gaming tower on sale at JCP is for helping to cool it down. I thought it was just something to keep the games and controller and console in so they aren't all over the floor like mine is.

I want to get one of those too. I'd rather lie down the XBox cuz whenever it is standing up it sounds like the disc falls out of place

Just make sure it is well ventilated. They do get hot and do over heat. It happened to a friend recently. But they didn't have it in a place where it vented well.

They actually generate more heat then they cool. Also they are technically a violation of the warranty according to Microsoft.
