How much do you spend?

Postby shanyo76 » Wed Oct 21, 2009 3:03 pm

Just curious about how much everyone spends on Black Friday. What do you usually budget? I try to have at least $500 although I have went with only $200 and still got a lot.

Depends on what I'm getting. Last year I bought a TV so like $1500 or so. This year I just want a PS3 and iPod dock so after presents, movies, and vid games maybe $500-$750.

I take about $200-300 cash & say I won't whip out the debit card -- but I usually end up whipping it out anyway.

It depends on how much I have already picked up before Black Friday (I shop the end of season clearance at Target - this year I picked up a lot and I watch for the early sales too - like the buy 2 get one free on Imaginext Toys at Toys R Us this week) -- I have a budget of $150 for each of my boys, plus each set of Grandparents usually sends $100 for each so basically $350 for each. The only way I go over budget is if I find a really good deal on something for me and my husband (usually we just get for the boys and not us - but last year I picked up a digital picture frame).

I usually try to have saved at least $500 for BF. I also keep my ears and eyes open for deals that are hard to pass up, like BOGO!! I have my 3 sons, husband and about 15 other people to buy for... this year the bigg item Im hoping to get an awesome deal on is the Wii!!!

The first year, I stood out in line for a few day's to get a PS3, and I needed an HDTV, so I bought a 32" for about 400, then the past couple years, just a few things here and there, around a hundred. And last year, I bought a sound system, and some games, so about 200.

This year there are a ton of pre-BF deals. I already found my laptop I thought I was going to have to camp out for. At this rate I won't need to get up early at all BF day.

I usually end up spending all the money in my bank account, plus maxing out 3 or 4 charge cards. I usually open new store credit cards on BF and max them out the same day. 2006 BBY gave me a card with a $2K limit, and it was spent in minutes. Paying off Black Friday for years makes me feel good. :)

How much I spend vs. how much I planned on spending are usually quite different.

I try to stay around $500, but it ends up being closer to $1000. I'm afraid that if I planned on $1000, I'd spend $2000...

It depends on the ads. I usually have about 200.00 in cash and my debit card just in case.

waaay too much and usually around $500 (and I don't typically buy electronics). Oh and that doesn't include my hotel.

I'm not super excited for Christmas this year, so I don't expect to spend as much. But we'll see...I already have a slap chop and a snuggie on my list, so there's $10.

I usually spend around 1500. We have had some cut backs around here so I'm hoping for $1,000.00

Yeah I usually have about $1300-$1500 but the past couple of years has been really tight. I am hoping that I will have at least $800 this year if I can get it built back up in time. I had to use some of my BF saving for bills this year. :(

Phew, most of you spend waay more than I do. Maybe a couple of hundred. But then again I am just one 20-something year old. I'm just buying for family and boyfriend.
