If hubby is off from work, we start putting it up on BF after we take our post shopping nap. If he's not off, then we start it on his next day off. We used to put it up 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, but since he changed companies, we don't have to do that anymore. He's a Bakery Manager, so during the holidays, we take advantage of every opportunity we have to spend time together doing Christmas stuff (but not shopping!). We love Christmas!

My daughter's birthday is Dec 2nd and my son's is Dec 16th.........so I put my tree up on the 17th so he (they) can have a birthday a little seperate from the holidays. I mean, we all want our birthdays just as much. Plus, we get a live tree and it does not last much longer than a few weeks.

Tree Time - TDay!

Postby jgm8 » Wed Nov 05, 2008 1:57 pm

The weekend before TDay, DH starts hauling all of our decorations out of storage. Then he heads to my grandma's and gets her stuff out. On TDay, the whole family gets together to decorate her house. All of the grandsons hang the lights outside. The granddaughters get to set up and decorate the tree. While I am out on BF, DH puts up the tree and lights with the help of DD. I usually decorate the tree later that evening. I may not be able to wait that long this year!

My wife will start this weekend. She has at least 5 trees to setup.

Normally I wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving but this year I think I want to start decorating early. Everyone comes to my house for THanksgiving so I may set it up the weekend before T day.

Yep! I use to live in Wilmington. When I40 ends and turns into College, you'd turn right at the light, and I lived up in that neighborhood. I love Wilmington. I miss the city, Carolina & Kure Beach, and Top Sail Island... MAN, I can't wait to get back up there.
I am in Virginia but right at the NC line, near Eden/ Madison/ Greensboro

I do love this town. Nothing like living somewhere with the beach at your back door. What made you move?
