Who has the best "Freebies" ??

Postby XmasDVD » Fri Oct 31, 2008 4:29 am

Each year besides the great BF deals, many stores give stuff away to people just for coming early.
What stores give away what? Who has the best freebies??

Stores don't do as many giveaways as in the past-- people get downright mean when they don't get a .25 stuffed whatever.

JC Penney gives out mini Disney snowglobes-- just the fact that I've gotten one every year since they started handing them out means I have to get one.

I've not seen anything too great as far as freebies go. In some ways the snow globes are probably the best thing from JC Penney as you usually don't have to wait in line nor even shop there. Just go in and find the person handing them out and ask for one. They usually have an abundance of them.

Yep we;ve been getting the snowglobes since day 1 - we each get one, then wait about 5 minutes for the crowd to clear thn grab about 6 more on the way out.

Freebies are pretty much a thing of the past. JCP is about the only retailer that I know of.

It's a shame - Target used to do it, KMart used to give out gift cards

I love my snow globes. We always get 2 (I get one, and my wife gets one). Lucky we do that because one fell off of the mantel last year and broke. :(
luckily we had a replacement.

Sears used to give out free $10 gift cards to the first 50 or 100 people, but I think they stopped after 2006.

Target in my area also has a Starbucks so employees will come out with small cups of coffee for everyone waiting in line, which begins to form around 3am. It's not a huge freebie, but it is very appreciated!! They also come out with their flier and ask the people in line what they going to get first and tells them where the item is located.

excellent. Yeah we have a new SuperTarget w/a Starbucks - I'll have to see about the coffee.
I remember they used to give out little goodies bags to the shoppers

I have to have my snowglobe every year. Not sure why but it is a necessity. On a side note i work for Old Navy and we gave away some crappy MP3 players for the first 300 or something like that. They came preloaded with all that awful music we play in our stores.
