Happy Halloween everyone
Just here to have fun, keep the bad guys out, and give the stray dogs a place to stay

Happy Halloween!

How did it go for you guys that handed out candy? I wish they'd make up their mind how many of them are going to show up. We've been in this house for like 10 years or so and I always have tons of candy and hardly any trick-or-treaters. This year I kept my candy count around 25-30 (made little ziplocs with a few items in them - and planned to eat the extras) and ran out before 8pm! I'm handing out mini-chip bags now  . Went out to get our pizza (poor planning on my part, hoped to get it before trick-or-treating started) and there are cars parked all up and down the sides of the main road of this neighborhood. I guess this is the place to be this year? Sheesh.

There were not many kids this year.

I had to work late this year, plus we had a storm brewing over us causing fallen trees and flooding, but it didn't stop the kiddos from trick or treating. My daughter went out with her soccer team this year and returned with 3 bags full that she likely won't eat. Funny part is our town has a curfew of no trick or treating after 1830 and yet they were still haunting the neighborhood past 2000 when I got home. Wife said only 2-3 kids stopped at our house prior to that, I blame that on the fact that she forgot to turn our porch light on. Too bad because being the first Halloween in this house I felt charitable this year and got full size candy bars to hand out, guess I have some treats to go with my work lunches for awhile.

Full-sized candy bars? She didn't turn on that light on purpose!
