To buy the TV or not to buy the TV...

The Element 55" for 249 at Meijer.

Is it a good deal? I think so
Could I use that money for something else? Of course but its not a necessity
Do i need it? No but occasionally my sound goes out and i have to restart my TV, its sporadic and not really a problem, yet!
Do I want it? Who doesnt want new things?

LOL Well? What do you think?

Got the target element one last year for just over 100 (before that had a tiny box tv). It still works but it is obvious it is a cheap tv with the sound and picture quality. I knew that going in so I didn't expect a lot so it has been fine for me. We needed a tv and it fit the budget. It was an upgrade from thrift store box tv. I wouldn't buy it as solely a size upgrade, quality isn't there.

We don't watch a ton of tv but we've had an element with dvd player attatched for 5 years now and it still works great. We are buying that tv at meijer this year just to have another tv but bummed no dvd player lol. I'm curious about best buy deal.... $149. Never ahopped best buy before... do they tell u how many they have in store? Do u wait in a line? Is there any way to know if its worth missing the other sales to get that tv? Thanks!

I voted "yes". At the $250 price point, I'm not sure whether "good" or "bad" is relevant. At that price, the television seems to be just a commodity rather than an investment.

Proscan, element, they are all POC brands. You wont even see them reviewed.

You can get a good brand 55" tv for about $350. The extra $ is worth it.

Try these. Toshiba and Westinghouse are best of this list.

Haier 55", $350, PC Richard
Insignia, $400, best buy
Toshiba, $350, best buy
Westinghouse, $300, target
