Congrats. I owe $2150 combined this year. Now that we have two properties, our taxes went up dramatically. Child tax credit usually balances us out so we don't have to pay, but apparently raising two kids under 17 last year doesn't amount to anything...

To add insult to injury, I found out my homeowner's insurance policy doesn't cover snow damage, so $15,000 (est. minimum) to rebuild our garage has to come out of my pocket.

My daughter plays travel fastpitch and it aint cheap. :D

She has already learned softballs aren't soft, they just leave bigger bruises. Took a ball to eyebrow...black eye now and bleed inside eye itself too :(

Rip-it face mask, especially if she's a pitcher or infielder.

I've got to pay mine today. We end up with owing federal and getting a small refund from the state.

We applied our refund to paying off the car and are debt free as of March 2015. It was a lot of hard work, but worth the effort.

Congrats! how's the car running? I had just paid off the balance on my wife's car loan when the head gasket blew last year, that resulted in a expensive bill even though I do all my own work AND have a discount parts supplier on "speed dial." I sincerely hope you don't run into that kind of trouble. :)

Thanks for the good cheer. The car is a 2011 Toyota something or other (I really don't know) and it runs really well. We purchased the car on credit and then paid it off when the final bill came. Funny thing is...when we purchased the car, the dealership forgot to send us a bill and inadvertently billed us for the next month. 8)

BUMP... Its that time again! Anyone getting a head start on their taxes this year?

I made some adjustments on my W4 after having to pay out the nose last year, I'm hoping I can get some of that $$ back. Also rumor has it Our state is offering an tax incentive for businesses to stay in the state or something like that so we should see something out of that :) ...then again we got screwed the past few years so I doubt this year will be any different

I haven't even started mine. I haven't received the information yet. I'm not sure what I would do if we got a refund.

I'm paying a hospital bill off when ours comes in.

Hoping we will have everything by the end of the month and can file in Feb.

woot! We're getting $1250 back this year. The first time in YEARS where I didn't have to pay... It's going directly into my daughter's savings account for her future.
