My Keepon or Fijit Friends?
Posted: Wed Oct 19, 2011 3:35 pm
Two popular robot toys this year look to be the My Keepon and Fijit Friends.
My Keepon was originally conceived as a robot to provide therapy for kids with autism. This year, it'll finally hit retail shelves, being sold exclusively at Toys R Us for $50. It can dance to music in time and can respond to touch.
Fijit Friends are like Furby meets the dancing flower. They can interact with you, tell jokes, and dance to music. These guys are also retailing for $50.
Which one would you purchase this year if you had to choose?

Neither, they both look stupid and a waste of money.

My 7 year old has also said that she wants a Fijit. But this week the American Doll catalog came to our house in the mail. She does not have one and has never mentioned them before, so I don't know how we got on this mailing list. It could be an interesting year for Santa.

I think Fijit just did rollback to 39.96 or something at Walmart...still too much money.

My nine year old spent her birthday money on the green fijit at walmart in August. It was $50. She hates it. Played with it like twice. It's now listed on ebay, lol....

My 5yr old dd wants a figit, but after reading all of the reviews on Amazon I've decided not to buy it. I will look into the other thing that you posted though. Thanks.

Havent seen the keepon either, but the fijits def look like a waste of money! And I totally agree with a pp that stated $40 is still too much. Heck, who am I kidding, I wouldnt buy it if it were even less lol

My thoughts are hit yard sales in the spring...probably can pick one up then for $5 or so...lol! Kid will think it is cool for maybe a week or so - then it just becomes clutter. Our mission this year is "less clutter" and not buying this that only have "Christmas morning" appeal and then don't get touched.
