Absolutely -- talk to a guitarist. I would definitely ask a private teacher (if he has one) as he/she will be best at judging where he's going musically and can possibly recommend a knowledgeable sales person. I'd go with a local music shop as most of the folks working there are actual working music...

I'm a professional photographer and that pays my bills, but I teach private music lessons (mostly woodwind). I play about 10 different instruments, so here's my take on shopping for one... Guitars: m -- I'd use the site just to compare, I'd shop locally if it was me. All musical instruments, but esp...

I DO shop TRU, but NOT on BF. I shop the 2 day weekend sales and doorbusters they have leading up to BF and after. I also regularly shop online with them because they have a wishlist (kind of like a registry) that you can send to your family and friends for birthdays & holidays. It makes it supe...

Re: Employees of the stores

If the item you are looking for is listed in the ad with two things #1 sku number #2 minimum quantity. Go to the store before black friday while they are still open (tuesday wednesday) Dont tell the sales person anything about the sales ad just ask if they can tell you how many of these they have i...

Great make-up job! I'm not an MTV'er, so I don't know WTF these characters are, but I can appreciate the make-up and costuming. I think INTENT should be the talking point here. These guys were out to have some fun with their friends, not make any social statements or insult anyone. And I think kcurl...

Sears does indeed PRICE MATCH on BF. However, you have to have the AD with the PRICE and MODEL # listed in the advertisement when you purchase the product -- not after the fact. It's usually a NO NO on doorbuster deals though.

Look at your receipt. It should list the return policy. I'll say this again...most stores have an exception clause in their pricing policies specifically for Black Friday. Ask for a copy of it.

One hubby (the Sears guru, btw), one 2 1/2 year old girl, and an 8 year old Basset Hound and 16 year old Main Coon Kitty, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

"Hi, my name is Kelly and I'm a black friday addict. It's been 1 year, and 27 days since my last BF shopping."

AS FAR AS SEARS GOES...since that's the only retailer I have any intimate knowledge of... IF YOU PURCHASE an item on Wednesday that is on sale on Friday, BUT IS NOT A DOORBUSTER -- the policy holds. YOU CANNOT, however -- purchase a DOORBUSTER or EARLY BIRD ITEM on Wednesday and then return to the s...

Packers makes a GREAT point. Applying for several lines of credit all at once is NOT GOOD for your credit score. If your credit is not so good and you struggle right now, then getting more credit is not the answer. You can get debt relief if you have lost a job, been on disability or had an illness....

Their after Christmas Toy Department Clearance is (I'm quoting my 2 1/2 year old here)...STUPENDOUS!! 75% off toys helps me buy for all my nephews birthdays in March and some of my munchkin's birthday in May. Always a good supply of on sale DVD's and other stuff (excepting doorbusters...

I hear ya on the insomnia, etc. and being pregnant on BF. I was only 15 weeks in 2005 for BF and had MS through week 26, so I give extra bonus points to anyone pregnant willing to do the madness. I slept for almost 16 hours straight after that BF. I was 39 when I had my first and only child (conceiv...

Be careful with those energy drinks if you're not used to them.

I had to take one of my band students to the emergency room because he got so hyped up on one. He had tachycardia (super fast heart rate) and passed out on the bus coming home from a football game. Scared the crap out of me.
