Sell your XS on e-bay -- you'll get more for it. Set-up a reserve price on it...describe it...show a picture of the warranty card, etc. You'll do well -- it's a popular set-up for prosumers right now. Then get what you need/want! You'll definitely want to stick with Canon because of your existing Ca...

Another Chance -- Sears Friends and Family Night Dec. 6th

They are having ANOTHER F&F night with (as far as I know) the same deals -- 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% off on regular, sale and clearance price items.

I'll post more details as I get them. This has been scheduled for a while (since the one in August, I believe).

No -- I don't take my 3 1/2 year old. Hubby works retail and always asks for the mid-day shift so they both get to sleep in. She *could* go as she loves to go places and shop with me, but I like the mental health break that it gives me and if I run across something for her, then I don't have to hide...

The best deals on Nikon and Canon DSLR's will most likely be online.

Try the biggies:

Sammy's Camera
Cameta Camera
B&H Photo
Adorama
Abe's of Maine

I've purchased equipment from all of these places and their service is always first rate.

The key to getting these shots (for a DSLR) is good glass with a fixed or wide open aperture (f4 and lower). The lower that number, the more light you are letting into the camera and the more detail and action you are going to get. If you're shooting in manual, you need a film speed of around ISO800...

As a pro shooter I would have to highly recommend the Nikon D40 -- lightweight, yet a substantial piece of camera equipment. You can get a kit configured any number of ways and the D40 has a bunch of features that the more expensive professional D series has for a much lower price. I have a pro shoo...

Mom of a 3 1/2 year old girl here... Tag Junior is a good bet. We got the regular Tag for her at 30 months and it's been a constant companion ever since. It's great that the books are pretty sturdy on their own and can be just regular story books as well. I recommend pretty much any Leap Frog produc...

Packers has got the idea -- don't abuse the guy/gal helping you at the point of sale (for they don't know where stock is moving from or how much is there). Be nice...sincere in your frustration and disappointment and you've got a good chance of getting something better for the same price. I know my ...

I own an older Gateway laptop that I process all my assignment pics on -- never had an issue in 5 years. It's built like a rock and has endured Farm Aid twice and a bunch of other big events like CMA Music Fest, Bonaroo and Jamboree in the Hills. I don't know what the newer ones are like, but this o...

No family is immune to these kind of problems. I feel bad for your niece/nephew -- I think they are the losers here. They may be happy with all of their things, but they surely are missing out on the spirit of giving and of family. That's what makes this time of year for me -- to spend extra time wi...

Gotta get my camera out of the truck yet to post my picture, but I have to second that EVERYWHERE I went people were commenting on my shirt and asking where I got it, about the site, etc. The web address was written on the backs of Target receipts, on check registers and any scrap of paper we could ...

A fixed aperture lens like that is going to be a long-term investment for her and will retain it's value over time. My suggestion -- buy used through a reputable camera dealer. Try: bandhphotovideo.com samys.com cameta.com A local chain, like Drury's in Nashville would be a good bet as well. You cou...
