Re: Surviving the cold...

We always brought a tent when we camped out for BF in Milwaukee and had a portable space heater, it was around 7 degrees outside and we got the inside of the tent up into the 30s-40s. Also bring sleeping bags and blankets and you will be comfortable. What kind of space heater did you use in your te...

We scout out which store(s) we will hit using BFads.net, and arrive earlier each year (last year we were in line by 330pm on Thursday and were 5th and 6th in line). We have tents, chairs, a cooler for beverages, and a space heater if it's gonna be real cold. Also a portable DVD player is handy. I'd ...

MikesTooLz, thanks! If I stand in line for 18 hours, can my friend join me one hour before the shop opens? Or me will be shot dead at the same moment? Others in line will likely not allow that and will be mad that it was attempted. They all wait in line for a very long time and react badly (underst...

Questions answered...

Typically you can only get one of a given item so if you're looking to get 4 laptops you'll have to get one each of four different models. The only other way is to go in a group that includes three people willing to get your other three laptops (you get the fourth) then you pay them back for the lap...

A single buddy is the best way to go IMO...

There is less confusion and potential for people showing up late with only one other person to worry about. You also really want it to be someone who you know is into Black Friday the same way you are. When we started doing Black Friday a decade ago there were 3-5 of us each year. Now it's just myse...

My suspicion this year: Flat-Screens and Laptops...

Expect to see a decent laptop for $199. Dual core with 2MB and a 180GB HD. Just my suspicion. As for TV's, here's what I'm thinking BB and CC will roll out: 32" for $249 37" for $399 42" for $549 50" for $699 All of the above are basic models of course. I got my 42" last yea...

and I agree about not liking all the rebate/subscription stuff at CC. once, the price was based upon a new AOL sub. really, AOL, they are still around? and I think it might have been a 2 year sub even. they are good for not having as much of a line, nor as hectic, which is nice. one local BB and CC...

Actions, Reactions, Consequences...

...I can understand retailer's concerns about early release of their ads. However, their decision to go the C & D route also has consequences, such as people like myself who will not go to chains that issue C & D's no matter how good their deals may be. That's just my personal choice. Doubtf...

Will probably be at CC too...

...mainly because the lines at BB are really getting insane. Last year we had already decided to hit CC but stopped by the BB around 3pm on the way to CC, there were 30-40 ppl in line and a tent strip was forming. By comparison CC had about 5 ppl so we got all we wanted, plus there were a couple pow...
