Our Top Ten Best Buy Black Friday Deals

Top Ten Best Buy Black Friday Deals

Already a fan favorite, Best Buy's ability to solely focus on consumer electronics and tech goods always make their Black Friday ad one of the best!

1. Apple iPad 2 16GB WiFi Tablet - $300

Rarely do we see discounts on Apple products on Black Friday, and when we do, they are usually in the form of packaged gift cards.

This year is different as Best Buy is selling the Apple iPad 2 for $300 out-the-door, $100 off its normal retail price.

And despite the iPad 2 being now two generations old, it has outlasted both the 3rd and 4th generation iPads, with Apple continuing to sell it right alongside the newer iPad Air and iPad Mini.

2. LG 55" 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV - $500

If I were to purchase one TV this Black Friday, this is probably my top choice. While not the cheapest (there's a Seiki for $400 at hhgregg), this TV is backed by the LG brand and appears to be a slightly dialed-down version of the well regarded 55LN5200 (which retails for $700).

Note that the LG 55LN5100 55" HDTV appears to be a Best Buy exclusive item that has not been sold prior to this Black Friday. It does lack 3D and Smart TV features, but 3D is largely a dying breed and I've always recommended using a Roku or WDTV over your TV's smart interface.

The 55LN5100 is priced the same as other name-brand 50" models and is only beaten in price (name-brand only) by Amazon's 55" Vizio for $480.

3. Sharp 42" 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV - $300

Surprisingly, if you're strictly looking for a 42" HDTV this year, this name-brand Sharp model is your least expensive option.

This set features a direct-lit LED backlight which will result in a thicker profile compared to edge-lit models (although will be largely the same depth as LCD models).

And although it only has a few reviews on, all reviews are generally positive with an overall 4.7/5 rating.

4. Kindle Fire HD 7" 16GB Tablet - $140

While this is the older Kindle HD (compared to the newly released HDX), the next lowest price on the Kindle HD is the lower-capacity 8GB model for $140 (w/ $25 Gift Card) at Staples.

Easily the best deal on the Kindle this Black Friday and a price we don't expect to see again anytime before Christmas.

5. Nikon D7000 DSLR w/ 18-140mm VR Lens - $800

The Nikon D7000 body, by itself, normally retails for $700+. The lens almost doubles that.

At $800, this is selling for roughly one half of its normal sales price - a bundled price that rarely dips below $1200.

If you're looking for the absolute best DSLR deal on Black Friday, this is it.

6. Dell 15.6" Laptop w/ Intel Celeron 1017U - $180

Probably the best budget-oriented laptop this Black Friday. Walmart also has a similar HP 15.6" laptop for $180, but the Dell has a newer and more powerful processor.

Comparatively, Dell Home has a very similarly configured laptop for $200 this Black Friday.

7. Vizio 50" 1080p 240Hz Smart LED 3D HDTV - $600

At a retail price of $1100, PC Magazine awarded the Vizio M501D-A2R 50" their midrange Editor's Choice award almost on affordability alone. At $600 (more than $200 off its normal sales price), this TV is an absolute steal.

It's also one of the few 240Hz sets under $1000 this Black Friday, with its closest competition being the Samsung 55" 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV at Best Buy for $727.

8. Sharp 50" 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV - $400

The big brother to the previously listed 42" model, this name-brand HDTV is the next cheapest option after the Element and Emerson models.

The next name-brand 50" HDTVs are all priced at $500 and above.

9. Escort Passport 8500 X50 Radar Detector - $200

Currently retailing in the low $300s at a variety of retailers, the $200 Black Friday price represents a $70 discount beyond the best price we've seen on this model so far this year.

The 8500 X50 is also highly regarded, as it has a 4.4/5 rating at Best Buy and a 4.3/5 rating at Amazon across 175+ reviews.

10. Samsung Galaxy S4 w/ 2-Year Agreement - FREE

If you're looking to upgrade to one of the top Android phones this Black Friday, you can't do much better than free. This is also an out-the-door price, so there's no bundled gift card to deal with!

Comparatively, Staples will have the S4 for a penny while Sam's Club will have the S4 for a dollar this Black Friday.

This year's Best Buy Black Friday ad is a bit heavy on the HDTVs, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Unfortunately, we didn't find too many great deals on laptops, possibly a small indicator of the greater shift of people opting for a nicer tablet rather than a bargain laptop.
