Target's 2018 Revamped Toy Department

Target's 2018 Revamped Toy Department

If you've been in your local Target store lately, you may have noted a complete renovation of their layout and displays. Not all Target stores have been remodeled, but many have.

As an obvious move to attract customers who would have previously shopped at Toys R Us during the holidays, Target seems to be pulling out all the stops this year to take advantage of the Toys R Us closings. Touting nearly twice as many new and exclusive toys as they offered in 2017, Target has packed their inventory with more than 2,500 toys this year! Check out the Target Top Toys of 2018 for a look at what toys they'll be carrying this holiday season.

Starting in November, they are adding square footage to their toy departments to accommodate the added stock of toys. It looks like they'll be offering big toy items as well this holiday season with room for electric ride-ons, playhouses, and outdoor sets that they normally don't carry in-store. Along with this, over 100 Target stores will have a completely reimagined toy department with an updated layout, big displays (be sure to check out their cool huge Lego displays), as well as interactive kids experiences to give the little ones something to do while the adults browse the aisles for holiday gifts. They've even moved the kids' books department to live right next to the toy department, creating a complete children's experience for their "littlest guests." And be sure to visit their store events page for all the details of their scheduled in-store toy-related events.

When you open your Target catalog with its expanded toy section next week, you'll have an enhanced shopping experience right in your hands with built-in scanning technology. Hop into your phone's Target app and utilize the bar code scanner on any page to bring up a list of every item on the page with the ability to drop it directly into your shopping cart! That's #tech-brilliant, if you ask us!

Target is hailing this total store revamp as a way of "creating even more incredible experiences" for shoppers. Will you be visiting the Target toy department this Black Friday to check out the new Big Red toy experience?
