Target Unveils Holiday Plans

Target Unveils Holiday Plans

Following everyone else's footsteps, Target has announced their holiday plans!

As we previously saw from their Toy Book, includes free shipping starting on November 1st. The shipping promotion ends on December 25th, but you can always get free shipping stacked with an extra 5% off using a free Target REDcard. They've also announced that they will be expanding their Curbside pickup service in the following major cities: Philadelphia, San Francisco, New York, New Jersey and Chicago. Hopefully this is something we see extended to additional stores, as it allows you to order via the Curbside app and pick up your order at the store without ever having to leave your car.

They are introducing The Holiday Odyssey, which seems to be directed towards kids, but aims to provide "digital interactions for families to enjoy together." The Holiday Odyssey is a season-long story at the heart of their marketing campaign that will be narrated by Neil Patrick Harris. You can view the entire thing here beginning on November 4th. If you live in New York, you can experience Target Wonderland on December 9th as well. Most of their holiday plans seem to be marketing schemes aimed towards children, especially since kids items are one of their signature categories.

The most exciting part of their plans is the announcement that Target will be offering more than 1,000 new Cartwheel deals! Cartwheel is a free app which can be downloaded for both iOS and Android. The app allows you to customize your savings by selecting offers which are then added to your custom barcode. Simply scan your offers at checkout and watch the savings add up. Cartwheel offers can be stacked with manufacturer and Target coupons to maximize your savings. You can also stack your 5% off REDcard discount.

Target will once again offer 50% off a different toy every day from November 1 until December 24. This promotion was offered last year, and was fantastic as long as your local store carried enough stock. Otherwise you needed to be there in the morning to purchase some of the more popular items. Target will offer over 450 Star Wars products and we expect to see Cartwheel offers on at least a few of them.

Thanks for visiting and tell your friends!
