UPDATE: PlayStation 4 Price Cut; Xbox One & PlayStation 4 Holiday Bundles Announced

PlayStation 4 Price Cut Xbox One & PlayStation 4 Holiday Bundles Announced

Gamers, this Black Friday might just be the best one yet!

We've got some major news from both Sony and Microsoft to share with you. No matter what side you're on, be prepared for some awesome deals vying for your attention this Black Friday season. A few of the most buzzed-about games are set for release in early November, and it is likely that there will be new bundles with additional gift cards, games, and/or services thrown into the mix. In fact, some of the console bundles have already been discounted since they were announced. If you already have your eye on one of these new and shiny video game bundles, you can consider using a layaway plan like Gamestop's, which began a few days ago. However, please note that due to their restrictions, only a few consoles are eligible for their layaway plan, so keep that in mind before you get your hopes up. We also predict that Gamestop stores will likely be closed on Thanksgiving as they were last year.

Update: Gamestop has confirmed via press release that they will be closed on Thanksgiving. Stores will open at 5AM local time on Black Friday.

Sony announced on October 8th that they'd be dropping the base price of the PlayStation 4 to $349.99, a $50 price cut. A price break that is almost the MSRP cost of a new game means that retailers are likely to create some great deals of their own to lure you into their stores on Black Friday.

Last year, we saw bundle deals like the PlayStation 4 Bundle w/ Grand Theft Auto V, The Last of Us + 2 Additional Games for $449.00 at Walmart. The stock bundle for Sony included The Last of Us, Grand Theft Auto V, and the console for $400. It will be interesting to see what merchants come up with for Black Friday 2015, especially with Sony exclusives.

Some Notable Confirmed Bundles:

The Xbox One is already priced at $349.99 for the base console, so this Black Friday season we are likely to see some sweet bundles with additional items like Xbox Live Gold cards thrown in. Combine those bundle deals with the new Xbox One Experience featuring Cortana, and you have a recipe for some awesome gaming.

Last year we saw Xbox One Black Friday bundles priced from $329.99 for the Assassin's Creed: Unity Bundle. There are a few Xbox One exclusive games coming out this season, and Microsoft recently announced their holiday bundle lineup.

Some Notable Confirmed Bundles:

Remember that bundles are likely to get even better and cheaper as we get closer to Black Friday! Update: As a perfect example, a loyal BFAds member recently alerted us to the fact that the Xbox One console is currently $299.97 and the PlayStation 4 is currently $329.99 at his local Costco! Thank you for the tip, Phil!
