A whopping 83% of those looking for Black Friday deals this year will be doing so on Thanksgiving and 56% will start shopping on Thanksgiving morning, if not earlier. Nearly 4 in 10 will use Black Friday sites to get the majority of sales intel. This is in sharp contrast to the nearly 4 in 10 that scoured newspaper ads for the same info 4 years ago, as was featured in Mashable in 2012. Back then, 44% said holiday gifts were the primary reason for shopping Black Friday sales while this year more than 6 in 10 said their primary reason was to seek out low prices. Huh…it appears many of us will be shopping for ourselves!
