Halloween Contest Update

Halloween Contest UpdateWe just posted the majority of the Halloween Costume & Pumpkin Carving Contest submissions on our Facebook Fan page. The albums are available for viewing even if you are not a Facebook user. Please note that due to the 200-image limit of Facebook albums, there are multiple albums for each contest. All said and done, we've processed over 250 individual submissions and well over 500 pictures and we're still not finished!

Remember, pumpkin carving entries are due tonight by 11:59pm CST to allow for a public voting of the top 3 entries tomorrow, Friday, October 30th.

Costume entries are due Monday, November 2nd at 5pm CST. Costume winners will be announced Tuesday, November 3rd.

All Halloween contest information, along with the appropriate submission form, are available on our Halloween Costume & Carving Contest Page.

We've received some questions about whether or not entries are valid without the paper with your name and "BFADS.NET Halloween Contest" with them. Our original intention with this requirement was to guarantee authenticity of the photo so that people wouldn't find a cool pumpkin or costume online and falsely submit it as their own. Unfortunately, the majority of entries either did not contain the paper or included it incorrectly. Fortunately, we strongly believe that all the entries submitted have been legitimate.

So, the good news is that we're relaxing the requirements: we might not have been explicit enough with the rules and we feel that all entries received were legitimate. A lot of people's heads were in the right place, even if the execution was off. If your photo is in one of the above Facebook albums, your submission is valid and eligible for the prizes.

If your photo is not in the album and you submitted it before 8pm EST yesterday, October 28th, please re-submit your entry. No entry was denied for the lack of authenticity paper, we just may have not received your entry or it got lost. We're still in the process of adding entries submitted within the past 24 hours.

It is very much preferred if any future submissions include a piece of paper in the photo (like the one above in this news post), but is no longer a definitive requirement.

Hope this clears up any confusion!

Thanks to Jessie B. of Massachusetts for their pumpkin carving entry featured in this news posting!
