Planning on ordering from Amazon a lot this holiday season? Always wanted Amazon Prime but couldn't justify the $79/yr price-tag?
I have some good news for you: Amazon is now offering the Amazon Prime service as a monthly subscription for only $7.99/month. While this works out to be slightly more than the annual rate (still available at $79/yr), this plan is perfect for those who purchase a lot during the holidays but not so much during the year.
For $16 you can guarantee yourself free 2-day shipping on the millions of items shipped and sold by Amazon through Christmas.
But that's not all, as Amazon Prime members also get free, unlimited streaming of commercial-free movies & TV shows along with instant access to Kindle books.
Even if you only place two orders through Christmas, you'll still only effectively be paying $8 per order for 2-day shipping - a rate that you'll be hard to find matched anywhere else this holiday season.
Supposedly the monthly subscription offer may not be available for everyone, but for anyone not seeing the $7.99/mo offer, we've heard of various degrees of success by using this method:
- Open a Private Browsing window in FireFox or an Incognito Window in Google Chrome
- Open this link in that window
- Click on the "Start Your One Month Free Trial" button
- The $7.99/mo rate should be offered
Let us know if this works for you or if you figured out another way to get the rate to appear. I've noticed that the rate does not show up in Internet Explorer for me, but shows up in the Google Incognito window.
