Amazon Drops Free Shipping Threshold to $35

Amazon Drops Free Shipping Threshold to $35 2017

Breaking news! Amazon dropped their free shipping threshold to $35 today, likely because of Walmart doing the same thing a few weeks ago. There isn't an official press release yet but we'll be sure to keep you updated.

If you're not an Amazon Prime member, you'll now get Free Super Saver Shipping on orders over $35. Of course, Amazon Prime members will still get free 2-day shipping among a ton of other benefits. You can click here for a free 30-day trial.

There are still a few differences between the two retail giants' shipping policies. At Walmart, you'll get free 2-day shipping on most orders over $35 or you can pay a fixed $5.99 flat-rate fee for 2-day shipping on orders less than $35. At Amazon, orders over $35 take longer to ship. You have to pay $99 a year or $10.99 per month to get that free 2-day shipping --- but there's no minimum purchase for Prime Members as long as the item is Prime eligible.

We're hoping that Walmart and Amazon continue their tug-of-war. Maybe we'll even get the average free shipping threshold down to $25 again!
