A Guide to Streaming Media Services

What is Streaming Media, anyway?

Quite simply. streaming media involves using your Internet connection to send television shows and movies to your PC or other supported device. Unlike normal television, where you are tied to a specific time if you want to watch a show of movie, you’re not tied to a certain network’s TV schedule with streaming content.

While DVRs are another possibility, they often cost $7-$10 a month from your cable or satellite provider – roughly the same price you’d be paying for one of the streaming services we’ll be covering. When considering the other benefits of streaming video services, including their large movie collections and support for devices other than just a cable box, streaming media services start to look like a really good deal.
