10 Hottest Video Games of 2010

Top 5 Games for 2010

Truly the most anticipated title for several holiday seasons at this point, Gran Turismo 5 may actually make it off the starting line this year. Why the delay, you ask? Well let’s just say the feature list is just shy of insane: 3DTV support, car damage, go-karting, course creation, realistic weather effects, and up to 16-player online racing.

Like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Donkey Kong Country Returns manages to stay true to its two-dimensional roots while making everything fresh again. As the title says, everything is coming back: bananas, KONG letters, barrels, tag-team game play - it’s as if you’ve time traveled back to 1995!

Another year, another Call of Duty. Continuing the trend of Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops is set in the present day and deals with many of the military and political issues that Special Forces and military contractors face every day. The series’ multiplayer modes are back in a big way, and new modes have been added to spice up the already stellar lineup of co-op and versus play.

Rock Band 3 is no mere music game… Instead, it is the first ever fully fledged music simulator and trainer. By adding in Pro-mode to the already established Guitar, Bass, and Drum tracks, and introducing the all new Keytar peripheral, Rock Band 3 will let you live out your rock star fantasies and teach you a thing or two about the fundamentals of instrumentation.

With the marketing might of Microsoft and enthusiastic celebrity endorsement and support, Kinect will easily be THE video game gift of the season and it’s easy to see why. Even more so than the Wii, Kinect will strike a chord with people who wouldn’t normally think to play games and will be a perfect activity for those holiday-time family gatherings.
