Amazon to Offer $67 Prime Friday

Amazon Prime

Thanks to the success of Amazon's show Transparent at the 67th Prime Time Emmy Awards, the online retail giant will be offering first-time members a full Amazon Prime Membership for only $67. Normally Amazon Prime runs $99 a year. This price is not only better than Black Friday prices, it is the lowest price we have seen on Amazon Prime Memberships... ever. Last year, we did see memberships for $72 when "Transparent" won a couple of Golden Globes. The deal will be live on our site as a Hot Deal from midnight Friday, September 25, to 11:59pm PT. Please note that the end of the deal is in the Pacific Time Zone, so the deal is up until 2:59am ET on Saturday. The best way not to forget to buy Prime this Friday is to subscribe to our newsletter. That is also the best way to get all the Black Friday ads and Cyber Monday deals.

We recommend getting your Prime Membership sooner, rather than later. We believe Prime members will get exclusive lightning deals and early access this Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We also believe that there will be sales and events for Prime members leading up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. You will get access to all of those as well. Plus, free two-day shipping often pays for the membership itself over the course of the year.

Another perk will be access to Amazon Prime Day 2016. After Prime Day saw 18% more orders than last Black Friday, with Amazon moving 34.4 million items (398 items per second) Amazon Prime Vice President Greg Greeley was quoted in the USA TODAY as saying "We'll definitely be doing this again." Getting Prime on Friday amounts to about $5.58 a month. For a refresher on how Amazon works on Black Friday, check out our Prime Day Guide from this year.
